At 10:55:28 a.m., Macif Sant\u00e9 Pr\u00e9voyance<\/em> was the first to cross the finish line of the 48 Heures Azimut 2025.It completed the 307-mile course in 1 day, 19 hours, 25 minutes and 28 seconds, at an average speed of 7.08 knots.In reality, it covered 357 miles at an average of 8.22 knots.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lo\u00efs:<\/strong>
\u201cWe managed to sail our own race, set things up, and find our rhythm together. For us, it was such a great race \u2014 it was perfect to take the lead back, hold on to it, and fine-tune as a duo. I had a fantastic time, a great race, really positive.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sam:<\/strong>
\u201cYes, everything felt smooth, not complicated. Discussions were easy, decisions too. We were never worried, though it\u2019s true we were frustrated by the poor start. After that, we clawed back tenths of a mile, overtook Charal<\/em> just after the second mark, and Teamwork<\/em> just before the finish,\u00a0 so we\u2019re happy. But we never stressed. For us, it was about getting back into double-handed sailing after the summer refits and a little break in the Mediterranean (a nod to their participation in The Ocean Race Europe, editor\u2019s note). So this was our return to sea before the upcoming Transat Caf\u00e9 l\u2019Or<\/em>, which is coming up fast. We\u2019re super happy to start off with a win and to work well together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lo\u00efs:<\/strong>
\u201cWe always believed in our game plan, enjoyed being out there, stayed focused, and it worked. Plus, we\u2019ve got quite a weapon, haven\u2019t we?! The boat is really exceptional, and it\u2019s great to put it out in front.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sam:<\/strong>
\u201cThe boat is amazing! Jean-Yves (Gau, the boat captain) reminded us when he came aboard that this is the fifth consecutive regatta Macif Sant\u00e9 Pr\u00e9voyance<\/em> has won, so it really is an incredible weapon. We only took it in hand quite recently, so we\u2019re still learning every day. There were things we saw in this race we\u2019d never experienced before, so we\u2019re taking lots of lessons from it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lo\u00efs:<\/strong>
\u201cOf course, we kept a close eye on Charal<\/em> because they trained a lot this winter, and in all the sailing we\u2019ve done, we\u2019ve often been side by side with them. Teamwork<\/em> also sailed really well. And we also saw a daggerboard boat, which was also called Macif<\/em> when it was launched, perform very strongly. That shows that in these conditions, even if you\u2019ve got the latest foiler, victory is never guaranteed.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
