The skipper from the Ile de France region, who during his first attempt at the solo round the world race was forced to retire in Polynesia at a moment when he was in third place in the race, will be back in the adventure with a brand new boat.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 60-foot boat is currently being built at Persico Marine in Italy. The project is more or less a sistership to LinkedOut aboard which Thomas Ruyant finished in sixth place in the last Vend\u00e9e Globe. She is due to be launched next August, which should allow the winner of the 2018 Route du Rhum Destination Guadeloupe to return to defend his title.<\/p>\n<p>Paul Meilhat and Biotherm are both committed to protecting the ocean and will be working with the Tara Oceans Foundation, in particular by fitting sensors aboard Biotherm to gather data about the health of the seas around the world.<\/p>\n<p>For Biotherm, entering the Vend\u00e9e Globe has a particular meaning: in 1982, the beauty product manufacturer sponsored Florence Arthaud\u2019s 60-foot trimaran in the Route du Rhum.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Paul Meilhat and Biotherm have announced their desire to line up together at the start of the 2024 Vend\u00e9e Globe.
